Software Tester - Microservices & Telecoms

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic team working on distributed microservices within the telecoms and broadband domain. This role is ideal for someone who has experience testing both REST-based and event-driven microservices, thrives in fast-paced engineering environments, and is eager to contribute to the quality of complex cloud-native systems.

You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team, ensuring robust validation of backend services deployed in distributed environments, with opportunities to work across manual and automated testing pipelines. Familiarity with telecom/PON and GCP is a bonus.

What You’ll Do

• Design and execute test plans for REST and event-driven microservices in a distributed system.

• Perform manual testing on newly developed features and regression scenarios.

• Debug, monitor, and report on system behavior using logs, traces, and observability tools.

• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and architects to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Contribute to test strategies and documentation as part of agile sprint cycles.

• Participate in sprint ceremonies and promote continuous improvement in testing practices.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience testing distributed microservices architectures.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs and event-based communication patterns.

• Ability to debug backend interactions and interpret logs/traces effectively.

• Comfortable with manual testing in a CI/CD environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with the telecom/PON domain (Passive Optical Networks).

• Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.

• Exposure to automation frameworks or scripting to support testing activities.
