Stay safe on Himalayas

Never send money to companies. Jobs on Himalayas will never require payment from applicants.

About us:Wifinity was founded in 2007 to solve a problem—our armed forces were struggling with reliable connectivity. While living in barracks, often in remote locations, ordering a landline and booking in an engineer just wasn’t an option.

And that problem isn’t exclusive to the military, either. Students living in University accommodation, families visiting holiday resorts, or living in shared accommodation and retirement communities.

Conventional home broadband doesn’t always work for them.

Wifinity is different. We offer the same benefits as traditional broadband, such as super-fast speeds, WiFi, and secure and private networks, but none of the downsides. We even offer Pay As You Go and flexible contracts, so customers only pay for what they need without hefty penalties or long contract terms.

We take the complexity out of connectivity.

The opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Network Operations, this role combines deep technical expertise with engagement in pre-sales and solutions. You will be personally involved in the implementation of solutions for new Wifinity clients, as well as supporting complex incident and issue resolution on our existing network.

Additionally, you will manage our small team of L3 engineers, providing guidance and direction and working with other senior members of our Network Operations team to ensure effective resource planning and allocation.

Key areas of focus:

Operational Excellence

  • Own and resolve high-impact incidents escalated from L1/L2 teams, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
  • Lead configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network systems including firewalls, SD-WAN, GPON, routing and WiFi platforms.
  • Review and implement complex RFCs, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with CAB processes.
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents, resolutions, and network changes.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases and mentor junior staff.
  • Identify systemic issues and propose enhancements to tooling, workflows, and monitoring thresholds.
  • Key contributor and workstream owner of Product Operations and Platform standards
  • Provide strong representation within Network Operations’ Architecture Board
  • You would be expected to join on our on-call rota (one in four to six weekends) in the event that technical escalation beyond L2 capability is required outside of normal working hours.

Pre-Sales & Design Engagement

  • Collaborate with sales and solution architects to scope and design network solutions for new opportunities.
  • Provide technical input into customer proposals, including BOMs, SLAs, and service design documentation.
  • Provide Technical Input on both internal and external facing high & low level design documentation
  • Attend customer meetings to support technical discovery and solution alignment.
  • Work alongside our physical delivery team to implement complex customer-specific configurations.

Customer & Team Engagement

  • Build trust with customers and internal teams through expert handling of complex queries, problems and incidents.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.

About you:

  • A self-motivated problem solver with a passion for network operations and service excellence.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, including occasional out-of-hours support.
  • Committed to mentoring and knowledge sharing across the NOC team.

Your Experience

  • Proven experience in a NOC or ISP/Telecoms environment, with proven success in incident resolution and escalation handling.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales engagements and contributing to solution design.
  • Deep understanding of LAN/WAN/WiFi, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and security platforms (e.g., Fortigate, RADIUS).
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms, ticketing systems, and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SNMP, syslog).
  • Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and automation/scripting (Python, Bash) is a plus.

Qualifications
