About the Role
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will support solutioning and development of locally developed applications (LDAs), provide guidance to citizen developers, and lead integrations with external sources. This mid-level role is responsible for managing the movement of ServiceNow components in the CI/CD pipeline, performing custom application development, and supporting ITSM processes. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong client-facing business acumen and proven experience in ServiceNow ITSM, integrations, and scoped applications.
Responsibilities
Support the design and development of locally developed applications (LDAs) aligned with business needs
Provide guidance and mentorship to citizen developers leveraging the ServiceNow platform
Lead and execute integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, LDAP/AD, JDBC, and other platforms
Manage the movement and deployment of ServiceNow components, collections, and deployables in the CI/CD pipeline
Implement, integrate, configure, and develop custom applications, including scoped applications, on the ServiceNow platform
Collaborate with ServiceNow Architects to conduct code reviews, provide proofs of concept, and deliver product demonstrations
Perform development activities including troubleshooting, coding, scripting, and configurations of moderate to high complexity
Map business services and requirements to ServiceNow capabilities for ITSM solutions, workflow automation, and reporting
Administer, deploy, and manage systems and PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS platforms using privileged accounts with a focus on security and compliance
Maintain technical documentation and runbooks for all developed solutions
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer
3-6 years overall ServiceNow platform development and administration experience
At least one current Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification (e.g., ITSM, CSM, HRSD)
Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Strong experience with ServiceNow integrations, ITSM modules, and scoped application development
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, update set management, and platform administration
Proficient in JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes)
Strong team player with excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and related data modeling
Familiarity with custom application development best practices in ServiceNow
Experience with ServiceNow ITOM modules (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management)
Knowledge of workflow automation (Flow Designer, Workflow Editor) and dashboard/report creation

Basic Requirements:
- 3+ years of technical experience designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable cloud or platform solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN AND RESIDE IN THE U.S. All work must be performed in the U.S.
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Public Trust U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as this work is for a federal government client. Candidates will need to successfully complete a Background Investigation (BI) and credit check prior to beginning work. Nothing in applicants’ history should prevent them from obtaining a public trust security clearance.
