Job Description:

Location: Remote – Mustresidewithin Northeast U.S.(Preferably NY or NJ)

Travel:Approximately 25–50%

JOB SUMMARY:

The Account Executive IVis responsible fordriving enterprise revenue growth through the sale of Vertex tax technology solutions to both new and existing clients across the Northeast United States.

This role is ideal for a seasoned enterprise SaaS seller with a proventrack recordof exceeding quotawitha modern, AI-driven mindset. You are a truehunterwho creates opportunities, navigates complex organizations, and consistently wins new business.

You will engage senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, and IT, positioning Vertex as a strategic partner for transformation, compliance, and operational efficiency. Success in this role requires curiosity, resilience, and a results-oriented mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive new business byidentifying, engaging, and closing enterprise accounts within the assigned territory
  • Manage complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles including executive presentations, negotiations, and contract closure
  • Partner with prospects and customers to build compelling business cases and ROI for tax technology investments
  • Consistently achieve or exceed annual revenue targets (>$3M quota)
  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans aligned with company growth objectives
  • Work closely with marketing, SDRs, andCustomerSuccess teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client satisfaction
  • Clearly articulate anddemonstratethe enterprise value of Vertex solutions to Finance, Tax, and IT leaders
  • Maintainaccuratepipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within CRM tools (MEDDPICCproficiencypreferred)
  • Build andleveragerelationships with alliance partners, system integrators, and internal stakeholders

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of enterprise B2B SaaSsalesexperience, consistently exceeding multi-million-dollar quotas
  • Experience selling into Finance, Tax, or ERP-driven environments (tax, compliance, or financial software strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of ERP, POS, and eCommerce ecosystems
  • Proven ability to close complex, enterprise-level deals with multiple stakeholders
  • Hunter mentality with a consultative, value-based sales approach
  • Comfortoperatingin an AI-driven, evolving technology landscape
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presence
  • Strong territory planning, pipeline management, and forecasting discipline

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $99,400.00 - $129,200.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
