Senior Backend Engineer (Python, Distributed Systems)

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with experience in Python, Django, and Kafka to design and operate distributed backend services handling high traffic and real-time workloads.

Requirements

• Design and operate distributed backend services that handle high traffic and real-time workloads
• Build and maintain Python-based services using Django and asynchronous patterns where appropriate
• Own event-driven components using Kafka, including producers, consumers, and data flow design
• Take services from initial design through production, monitoring, and long-term maintenance
• Work closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver features safely at speed
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural discussions
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
