The IT Applications Manager is responsible for handling the operational support, maintenance, and development activities for healthcare business applications.

The IT Applications Manager is responsible for working closely with various hospital team members in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies. They act as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department and collaborates with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updates.

The IT Applications Manager also manages the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end user communication.

The IT Applications Manager will lead a team of IT specialists responsible for implementing and upgrading system hardware and application software. This position will also manage service delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets raised by the end users for assigned applications.

The manager keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts future trends in the area of application integration in the healthcare industry and maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives.

The Pharmacy Applications Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end oversight of high‑risk, safety‑critical pharmacy application workflows, ensuring system design, configuration, and operation actively support safe medication use across the continuum of care. This role provides leadership for medication safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical risk mitigation by enforcing evidence‑based safeguards, maintaining accreditation readiness, and governing changes to pharmacy systems through rigorous intake, testing, and validation processes. The manager partners closely with pharmacy leadership, medication safety, quality, and IT teams to investigate incidents, address system vulnerabilities, and drive continuous improvement. Accountable for build standards, system integrity, and operational resilience, this role ensures pharmacy applications are reliable, compliant, and optimized to protect patients while enabling efficient clinical care.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/ALicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Must be certified in Epic module(s) appropriate to area of responsibility as determined by leadership if applicable. Each project and exam as determined for the specific roles must be passed within three (3) attempts. Successful Epic certification(s) completion required within 60 days of final training. Maintain required Epic certification for appropriate role. Experience REQUIRED: Five (5) years’ experience in relevant IT field and three years of leadership experience. Experience PREFERRED: Ten (10) years’ experience in relevant IT field and five years of leadership experience. Previous Epic experience in the training, build, and/or support of the Epic systems electronic health record suite preferred. Healthcare experience desired. Education/training REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Engineering from an accredited program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.Education/training PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Engineering from an accredited program. Related certification.Independent action(s) required: Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement and assertiveness. Adaptable, open to change and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information or unexpected circumstances. Ability to focus on details and technicalities while simultaneously retaining a comprehensive vision of the big picture. Works well under pressure and manages several responsibilities with ease and composure.Advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Solid leadership skills. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Ability to effectively manage, develop and motivate staff.
