Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering design and analysis of overhead and underground transmission lines, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE) and regulatory requirements
- Conduct feasibility studies, route optimization, environmental assessments, and site evaluations for new and existing transmission projects
- Utilize GIS tools and spatial data to support route planning and engineering design decisions.
- Develop detailed engineering packages, including drawings, specifications, and structural calculations for transmission line components
- Perform advanced structural analysis using tools such as PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE to ensure system integrity, reliability, and safety
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, permitting authorities, and construction contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development within the team
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement, staying abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering required
- PE (Professional Engineer) and/or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification highly preferred
- 8+ years of transmission line design experience, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Proficient in PLS-CADD and related transmission design software
- Prior experience in team leadership or technical management highly preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a proven ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams
- Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship
