Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design and analysis of overhead and underground transmission lines, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE) and regulatory requirements
• Conduct feasibility studies, route optimization, environmental assessments, and site evaluations for new and existing transmission projects
• Utilize GIS tools and spatial data to support route planning and engineering design decisions.
• Develop detailed engineering packages, including drawings, specifications, and structural calculations for transmission line components
• Perform advanced structural analysis using tools such as PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE to ensure system integrity, reliability, and safety
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, permitting authorities, and construction contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development within the team
• Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement, staying abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory updates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering required
• PE (Professional Engineer) and/or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification highly preferred
• 8+ years of transmission line design experience, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
• Proficient in PLS-CADD and related transmission design software
• Prior experience in team leadership or technical management highly preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a proven ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams
• Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship
