TheDevelopmentOfficerworks towardsmeetingthe Oceaniaregion’sstrategic fundraising priorities through administrative, coordination and operational functions.TheOfficeris a key function in the Oceania Development teamandreportsto theDirector of Development, Oceania.TheOfficerisresponsible foravariety of key fundraising and donor stewardship activities to support fundraisersbased intheOceaniaregion,Australia,NewZealand, SolomonIslandsandPapua New Guinea.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

The DevelopmentOfficerassiststheOceaniaDevelopmentteamtocoordinateadministration, team meetings,compilingbriefingdocuments, prospect research and will on occasionattend donor meetings.,TheOfficerwillassistdrafting of thank you letters, making thank you calls, working closely as intermediary betweenDevelop Operations and the team to ensurereports, mailing lists,databaseBBCRMupdates, donor journeysarecompiledand completedin a timely manner.The role willassistwith theonboarding new development staff as needed. TheOfficerwillassisttoensure data accuracyofthe teams work and ensure it is reflected inBBCRM.TheOfficeralso supports Leadership in tasksregardingthe planning, execution andensuringthat theteam are clear on their priorities and are set up for success in meeting and exceedingfundraisingtargets..TheOfficerwillmaintainadvanced skills with the systemsin order toexecute tasks and provide support to team members. TheOfficerwill implement TNC’s best practices and processesin order toimprove effectiveness based onanin-depth understanding of related policies and procedures. TheOfficerwilleffectively communicate and collaborate widely with internal stakeholders, such asthe broader Asia PacificDevelopmentteam, Finance andMarketing and Communications teamand other departments as required. This role willassiststaff inactioningdecisions,ensuring best practice donor stewardship, and improving workflows.TheOfficerIsthe cornerstone of the Oceania Development team, ensuring we work seamlessly together andcross departmentally.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Prepares and sends out or makesOceania Thankyou emails and calls, issues donorreceipts, andresponded to donor enquiriesin a timely manner.Assistswith schedulingof the Director of Development’s calendar, s,including theOceania Development team meetings (agendas, minutes, actions and follow through), , Cross-department meetings, Donor meetings (with prospect research andbriefingdocuments,objectivesand actions/nextsteps.

  • Assistsin the planning and execution of region-leveldevelopment initiatives. E.g., workshopsand retreats

  • Coordinates and manages region-wide mailing lists,including webinars, annual reports, events via BBCRM, MailChimp, etc.

  • Conducts donor due diligence check via Bridger Screening Tool (as needed) andassistswithsubmittinginternal corporate registry applications.

  • Assistsin region-level projects and tasks, such as file management, vendor liaison, invitations, event support,etc.

  • Provides a variety ofgeneral supportto theOceaniaDevelopment teams on a case-by-case basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination.

  • Experience building relationships with staff,external stakeholdersor similar.

  • Experiencemanagingdatabases,generating reports and interpreting data.

  • Experienceworking and communicating with a wide range of people.

  • Experienceprioritizingand managing varied activities and competing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of relevant field.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of or experience in working in the fundraising/philanthropy sector.

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.

  • Ability to analyze information for the purpose of coordinating and planning activities and solving problems.

  • Ability to implement processes and strategic program goals.

  • Ability to coordinate projects,prioritize workflowand work under pressure.

  • Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.

  • Ability to apply research skills.

  • Ability to buildstrong productive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders

  • Experience with database administration and spreadsheet software, including managing,manipulatingand tracking data.

  • Strong organizationalskills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
