About the Role

Our client, a young filmmaker is seeking a junior or beginner-level video editor for a short-term, remote project. The task involves editing a short horror film, which will be presented as a gift. This freelance opportunity requires a few hours of work to transform raw footage into a polished final product. The project has a tight deadline, needing to be completed within a week.

Responsibilities

• Edit raw footage to create a cohesive short horror film
• Apply appropriate visual effects and transitions to enhance the horror atmosphere
• Color grade the footage to achieve a professional, cinematic look
• Synchronize and balance audio, including dialogue, sound effects, and background music

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve)
• Understanding of storytelling through video editing
• Familiarity with horror genre conventions and visual styles
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Strong communication skills to understand and implement the filmmaker's ideas
