We can provide entitlement, development, design, procurement, construction management, project management, expert witness and litigation support services on a variety of building types. Our experienced team have provided these services to successfully deliver various facilities for public school districts, college districts, universities, commercial developers, hospitality owners, multinational CM/PM consultants and other valued clients.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position with Los Angeles Community College District. 

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented project accountant with at least 2 years of experience processing invoices and supporting financial operations, preferably within the construction industry. They have a strong track record of reviewing and reconciling invoices, identifying discrepancies, and working closely with project teams to resolve payment issues efficiently. This individual is comfortable working in fast-paced environments, using accounting or business enterprise systems, and managing both independent and team-based responsibilities. Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an invoice processing subject matter expert with bond program team members.
  • Review and process invoices in accordance with program standard operating procedures.
  • Work directly with other bond program team members on cost and invoice commitments and expenditure matters.
  • Prepare and/or review vendor files or other supporting documentation for vendor payments.
  • Identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in invoice documentation and resolve expeditiously.
  • Assist in processing of general contractor's payment analysis.
  • Work effectively with other bond program personnel in order to resolve any invoice payment issues
    and obtain signatures of authorization on invoice matters.
  • Assist Finance and Accounting team in identifying errors and develop innovative approaches to
    minimize risk or repeat discrepancies.
  • Reconcile financial accounts and escrow bank statements for general contractors.
  • Processes and reviews District-Wide related invoices and other invoices as assigned.
  • Communicate with applicable construction and professional services and BTOC vendors as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • 2 years of accounting experience
  • Ability to work with business enterprise software
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and presentation skills

Required Education:

  • Associate's degree. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may
    be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College certificate or Bachelor's Degree in business or related degree/certificate.
  • Construction industry experience
