JOB OVERVIEW

A Project Estimator is responsible for providing accurate estimates and scope of work to our customers for proposed projects. This individual works closely with Sales , Procurement, Operations, and Field Services, to ensure accuracy of quotes; and ensures proper project information is provided to the Engineering, Operations, Field Services and Project Management teams. The Project Estimator provides positive and professional experience to our customers. It is crucial that our Project Estimator promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Attend customer site visits with sales team.

§ Prepare accurate proposals from RFP’s

§ Provide professional and positive customer experience.

§ Work with Project Management on awarded projects

§ Provide expertise knowledge to customers & supervisors to ensure projects are done accurately on budget & on time

§ Manage in-progress jobs; ensuring jobs are complete for deadlines on budget & on time

§ Balance a workload of multiple projects

§ Provide assistance in the Mechanical Design review process

§ Develop extensive knowledge of product line, preferred practices and all applicable industry standards

§ Conduct necessary site visits with Project Management to obtain field measurements in order to complete detailed drawings when necessary

§ Attend Project Kick-Off meetings as required

§ Correspond with Project Management to ensure design is reflective of the scope of work

§ Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship

§ In accordance with company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company

§ All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

§ Completion of College/University degree or diploma or equivalent job experience

§ 3+ years experience in similar estimation role

§ Strong engineering and manufacturing knowledge

§ Able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously

§ Creative thinker

§ Analytical mindset

§ Experience with SolidWorks an asset

§ Experience with MS Project an asset

§ Knowledge of fabrication, programming, electrical and millwrighting an asset

§ Strong organizational, time and budget management skills

§ Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
