DCCEEW’s Ministerial Services Branch (MSB) is seeking to appoint a Manager in our Water Ministerial Liaison Team to support the provision of high quality and timely advice to the Minister for Water and the DCCEEW Secretary.

About the role

The role leads a team of ministerial support staff in delivering high quality, accurate and timely responses to ministerial correspondence, briefing requests, parliamentary material and advice to the Minister for Water, Water executive and Water divisions. The role is central to supporting the Budget Estimates process, ensuring departmental staff and the Minister are well prepared. The role also manages the recruitment process and ongoing support/management for the Department Liaison Officers in the ministerial office.

Working in MSB provides a broad overview of public policy development, government decision making processes and opportunities to be involved in the many high-profile initiatives DCCEEW undertakes to deliver the best outcomes for NSW. It also offers a wide variety of career development opportunities.

About you

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and positive person to join and manage a dedicated and high performing team.

Strong organisational skills will be key to you successfully managing competing demands and tight deadlines. You will need to maintain attention to detail in delivering tasks in tight and challenging timeframes.

You will have excellent communication skills. You will need to use diplomacy, astute judgement and strong research and analytical skills in evaluating and providing advice on potentially sensitive issues.

You will keep the customer at the front of mind. Nurturing and sustaining excellent relationships and working collaboratively with team members and colleagues across DCCEEW, as well as other stakeholders across the Department, is essential in delivering the results that will be expected of you.
