You
You’re a collaborative and seasoned Frontend engineer who gets energy from helping others grow as much as from shipping great code yourself.
You balance curiosity for new tools with a pragmatic sense of what actually adds value. You enjoy building shared confidence in the frontend space - whether that’s through pairing, reviews or setting up better patterns and documentation.
Most of all, you care about customer experience and you want to use your skills to make Tixel’s platform simple, scalable and enjoyable to use at massive scale.
Us
A rapidly growing ticket marketplace that is making waves, a huge amount of positive impact and changing the game in the live entertainment space. We're on a mission to become the world’s most trusted live event marketplace.
What’s the role?
We’re looking for someone to step into a Frontend Lead position - someone who’s excited to help shape the future of Tixel’s frontend, both technically and as a support to the rest of the team.
This isn’t just about writing great code (though that’s definitely part of it). It’s also about helping us build a sustainable, scalable frontend platform and empowering others to do their best work in that space too. You'll play a critical role in how millions of fans experience Tixel.
What will you be responsible for?
Technical leadership of our frontend and front-end initiatives, like launching the Tixel App and more. Ensuring these projects are well-architected, stable and scalable.
Leading our frontend direction, you’ll help steer how we structure things, keep things maintainable and help others contribute confidently.
Stay across frontend best practices, new patterns, tools, and techniques and help us figure out which ones are worth bringing in.
Provide mentorship and guidance to developers wanting to deepen their frontend skills, through reviews, pairing or docs.
Play a central role in architectural decisions, especially for frontend-heavy features or platform-level concerns.
Help us hire and grow the frontend function as the team expands acting as a kind of “chapter lead” as that happens.
What does success look like?
We don’t expect you to do all the things from day one. But here are some outcomes we’d love to see over time:
Our frontend is stable, scalable, and easy for others to contribute to (especially those without a heavy frontend background).
The broader team feels more confident working in the frontend whether through better tooling, documentation, or shared learning.
We’ve implemented meaningful improvements to our frontend stack or patterns - ones that help us go faster, break less and scale better.
When we start hiring more frontend-focused devs, you help set the bar and the culture for what good frontend practice looks like at Tixel.
Why you'll love it here:
You'll be a part of a fast-paced, high-energy team aligned with the love of music and live events
We work hard, but we have fun. Otherwise, what's the point?
You will have true ownership over your area of responsibility and your input will be pivotal to the company's success. In turn, you'll have a real impact on people and the live events industry
We’re committed to building a team that embraces diverse perspectives and creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.
We’re proud of the fact we are family-friendly and have a flexible work environment with our HQ based in Melbourne, Australia, and growing teams in the UK and the US
You’ll get an extra personal day off every month, affectionately known as TDOs (Tixel Day Off)
We offer a monthly ticket allowance because live gigs are awesome and we want you testing the product as much as possible
We will invest in your development with access to a ‘level-up’ allowance and make it our priority to help you achieve your career objectives.
