POSITION TITLE: Program Associate

LOGISTICS & INFORMATION

Location: Tilting Futures is a remote-first organization. For this role, we welcome applicants based in California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Texas. We are also open to candidates living outside of the United States.

Start date: The priority deadline for this application is July 18, 2025; ideal start date is August 18, 2025.

Compensation: This is a part-time role averaging 20–25 hours per week, with an annual salary range of $24,000–$26,000. The exact salary will depend on the candidate’s location. Although part-time, this position comes with our full, people-centered benefits package, which we’re happy to discuss in more detail during the hiring process. ABOUT THIS ROLE

As our Global Community Engagement Support, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping the spirit of Tilting Futures alive long after participants complete our programs. You’ll help build a thriving global alumni network, strengthen key partnerships, and support unforgettable experiences that continue to shape lives and careers. This is your chance to help alumni stay connected, inspired, and supported as they lead change around the world.

The Program Associate reports directly to Archana Rao, Senior Director, Global Community Engagement, on the Programs team. The other primary stakeholders for this role are Fernando Martinez (Marketing Manager)and Rebecca Warren (Teaching & Learning). Get to know them here.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPACT

  • Lead the building of innovative systems that will enhance data efficiency, manage alumni stories and impact to support the organisations’ needs.
  • Elevate our alumni experience by helping design, coordinate, and execute major initiatives like the Annual Global Gathering, Pathways and Possibilities, and Alumni Ambassador training, along with a variety of alumni events and programs.
  • Keep our alumni stories front and center by capturing their accomplishments and sharing them with our team and broader community.
  • Support our alumni by providing recommendation letters, building networks,sharing opportunities and maintaining our Alumni email account.
  • Maintain the systems and tech platforms that keep alumni connected, ensuring the Community Hub, mailing lists, engagement metrics, and communications are always up-to-date and effective.
  • Collaborate on engaging content for our alumni Digest,main feed and other pages (highlighting events, career resources, alumni achievements, and more).
  • Manage calendars, conduct research, and take on special projects that advance our ambitious goals.
  • Provide essential administrative support to the Senior Director of Global Community Engagement, including relationship-building with external partners who help grow our mission.

The following skills and experiences are required:

  • Ideally, you’re an alum of our program, bringing lived experience that helps you connect authentically with our alumni community.
  • You have 1–3 years of professional or equivalent experience—whether through part-time or full-time work, fellowships, internships, or similar opportunities.
  • Confidence working independently and taking initiative.
  • Superb written, and verbal communication skills, you speak and write with ease, clarity, and impact, tailoring your style to suit the subject and audience. You’re also skilled at creating Google slide decks that tell a compelling story.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with diverse alumni, students, and partners.
  • Sound judgment paired with creativity and vision.
  • Exceptional tech fluency and ability to learn new systems—comfortable with MS Office, Google Suite, Asana, Salesforce, Slate—and genuinely energized by building systems and operational infrastructure that keep everything running smoothly
  • Experience planning and running online events and activities, plus managing online communities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

MorningYou start your day reviewing updates to alumni engagement metrics and prepping a content calendar for upcoming spotlights, then meet with the Senior Director to align on plans for the Annual Global Gathering.

AfternoonYou jump into coordinating details for an upcoming alumni panel—securing speakers, drafting invites, and updating the CRM. Later, you hop on a call with a partner organization to explore a new collaboration that could open more opportunities for alumni.

Before Signing OffYou schedule a series of alumni success posts for our main feed, log key updates to mailing lists, and wrap up by drafting a quick summary of alumni highlights to share with the broader team.
