United States onlyWe’re looking for a unicorn - a senior-level engineer with a blend of infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, and networking experience. You’ll join a high-performing engineering team that owns and scales a critical API platform. This role blends deep Linux systems knowledge, cloud infrastructure (GCP), automation, and networking with high accountability and ownership.
This is a fully remote W2 contract with compensation between $70–$75/hr. The engagement runs through the end of the year with strong potential for extension.
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience in roles such as Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Systems Engineer, with hands-on expertise in:
- Terraform (core to platform automation)
- Docker (deep fluency - inspecting containers, logs, and performance)
- Git/GitHub Actions
- Scripting in Bash, Python, or Go (only one is required)
- Linux system administration and tuning
- General networking knowledge (OSI layers 2-7)
- Cloud platforms (any cloud required; GCP preferred)
- Prometheus and Grafana (metrics, alerting, SLO/SLI awareness)
- JSON/YAML
Nice to Have:
- Strong preference for individuals who’ve worked in high-scale, high-availability environments
- Experience with: Alertmanager, Ansible, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Looker
- Familiarity with: Envoy Proxy
- Understanding of: Go code (reading, not necessarily writing)
- FinOps mindset or exposure to cloud cost optimization

- You must be exclusively dedicated to this role (no concurrent job engagements).
- To meet the client’s cybersecurity requirements, contractors are expected to have their camera on during meetings, collaboration sessions, etc. for the first 90 days of the assignment. Additionally, all work must be performed from within the United States for the duration of the assignment.
