About Texas Veterans Commission
We are the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC), a dedicated state agency with a steadfast mission to advocate for and provide superior service to the men and women who have served our nation. Since our establishment in 1927, originally as the State Service Office to assist veterans of the Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, and World War I, we have evolved into a comprehensive organization committed to significantly improving the quality of life for all Texas veterans, their families, and survivors. We understand that navigating the landscape of veterans' benefits can be complex, which is why we stand ready to assist with a wide array of services designed to meet your unique needs.
Our work is driven by a passion for service and a deep respect for the sacrifices made by our military community. We offer expert assistance through our Claims Department, helping you secure the federal benefits you have rightfully earned. Beyond claims, we are actively involved in empowering veterans through our Veterans Employment Services, connecting you with meaningful career opportunities, and our Veterans Education Program, which ensures you can maximize your educational benefits, including the Hazlewood Act. We also champion veteran entrepreneurs, provide mental health support, and advocate for women veterans. Through our Fund for Veterans' Assistance, we award grants to organizations that provide direct services to veterans across the state. At the Texas Veterans Commission, helping veterans starts here, and we are honored to serve you.
