What We Need

The Material Supply Planneris responsible forensuring thetimelyand cost-effective supply of materials needed to support customer demand and inventory targets. This role works closely with procurement, suppliers, engineering, andlogisticsteams tomaintainoptimalmaterial availability while minimizing shortages, excess, and obsolescence. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to work independently, exercises sound judgment and understands the downstream impact of planning decisions.

What We Do

The Production Control team manages project-based planning and material execution for complex, customer-specific automation systems. This group oversees material coordination, supply execution, andlogisticsalignment to ensure materials and equipment are available when and where needed to support installation and commissioning. Production Control works closely with other Supply Chain teams, including Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier partners, to align demand, supply, and execution across large-scale customer projects.

  • Monitor supply plans and adjust for changes in demand, capacity, or lead times.

  • Work with procurement teams and suppliers to confirm availability, delivery dates, and shipment schedules.

  • Maintain MRP material data to ensureoptimalpurchase requisition generation.

  • Generate manual purchase requisitions as needed.

  • Track andexpeditecritical materials to avoid production downtime.

  • Communicate delays, risks, or shortages to internal stakeholders and support recovery planning.

  • Coordinate supply planning activities with cross-functional project teams to ensure successful execution of new product launches, retrofit projects, and related initiatives.

  • Maintainappropriate inventorylevels by balancing service goals with inventory-holding costs.

  • Analyze slow-moving, excess, and obsolete materials; recommend and support corrective actions.

  • Monitor and analyze inventory movements,identifyingareas forimprovementand implementing corrective measures.

  • Perform root-cause analysis for stockouts, inaccurate inventory, or planning variances.

  • Maintainaccuratematerial master data (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, planning parameters).

  • Use ERP/MRP systems to manage and execute material planning activities.

  • Generate reports on material status, inventory health, supplier performance, and planning metrics.

  • Identifyopportunities to enhance planning processes, supplier performance, and inventory efficiency.

  • Support supply chain projects such as sourcing transitions, new product introductions, and system upgrades.

  • Collaborate with production teams and suppliers tooptimizematerial flow, presentation, triggers, and visual/system processes.

Whatyou’llneed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, ora relatedfield.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply planning, materials management, orpurchasing.

  • Proficiencywith ERP/MRP systems (Preferably SAP).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP).

  • Intermediate toadvanced Excel skills.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may berequired. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. 

  • The employeeis responsible forowning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $87,000.00 - $119,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
