Scrum Master - App Development

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join a mobile application development initiative within a large, internationally recognised sport’s governing organisation. The role supports the delivery of high-visibility mobile products that serve a global audience, operating in a fast-paced, event-driven environment where reliability, user experience, and continuous delivery are critical.

The successful candidate will bring at least 3 years of experience facilitating Agile delivery in software or app development environments, with a strong understanding of mobile workflows and team dynamics. You will act as a servant leader, coach, and facilitator, ensuring Scrum principles are effectively applied while helping the team remove impediments, improve collaboration, and continuously enhance delivery performance.

This role is ideal for a hands-on Scrum Master who thrives in product-focused environments and enjoys enabling teams to deliver value through disciplined Agile practices.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Coach the development team on Agile values, principles, and best practices, fostering self-organisation and accountability.

• Identify, manage, and remove blockers that impede team progress, escalating issues when required.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, developers, QA, and UX teams to ensure alignment on priorities and delivery goals.

• Track and report Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown charts, and cycle time to support transparency and continuous improvement.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through experimentation, feedback, and process optimisation.

• Protect the team from external interruptions and scope creep during active sprints.

• Ensure effective use of Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence for backlog management, workflow visibility, and reporting.

• Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including Jira ticket creation and updates, Confluence documentation, meeting coordination and action tracking.

• Provide regular progress updates and reporting to stakeholders while maintaining high standards of documentation and process clarity.

• Ensure adherence to organisational quality, delivery, and information security standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in software or mobile app development environments.

• Hands-on experience working with mobile app development teams (iOS and/or Android).

• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and the software development lifecycle for mobile and web applications.

• Proven ability to facilitate meetings, resolve conflicts, and manage stakeholder expectations.

• Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• High level of English proficiency, both written and spoken, for clear communication and documentation.

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification preferred.

• Exposure to UX/UI design processes and mobile app store deployment workflows.
