About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer (Thailand) is responsible for conducting supplier inspections, verifying production quality, and providing real-time reporting to Sunco’s Quality and Supplier-Partner Program (SSPP) team.

This position serves as the in-country quality representative for Sunco, coordinating directly with suppliers to ensure product compliance, process integrity, and consistent execution of inspection procedures.

What you'll do

• Conduct in-process and pre-shipment inspections according to established standards and checklists.
• Document and report inspection results, including photos, defect categorization, and overall product assessment.
• Support ΔE color and RAL compliance verification for molded and finished components.
• Communicate daily with Sunco’s Quality Coordinator and Quality Manager to provide production updates and raise quality concerns.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation as directed by the U.S. Quality team.
• Maintain organized inspection records and support continuous improvement feedback to suppliers.
• Perform periodic audits of supplier production and packaging processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in product inspection or manufacturing quality control.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Basic understanding of defect classification and inspection standards (AQL preferred).
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal) with international teams.
• Fluent in Thai (both written and verbal); Chinese proficiency is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, photo documentation, and basic reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LED lighting or consumer electronics products.
• Familiarity with RAL color standards or visual color comparison methods.
• Experience working directly with international customers or quality teams.

Work Conditions

• Full-time field position based in Chon Buri, Thailand.
• Frequent travel to supplier facilities and inspection sites.
• Requires use of digital tools for inspection reporting and photo uploads.
• Coordination with U.S. Quality team may require communication outside local business hours.
• This is an independent contractor opportunity based in Chon Buri, Thailand. Sunco Lighting is not able to provide visa or work permit sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work as a contractor in Thailand.

Compensation & Development Framework

This position provides an opportunity for professional growth within Sunco’s global quality framework. Performance evaluations will be conducted regularly, focusing on inspection accuracy, reporting timeliness, and overall supplier collaboration effectiveness. Starting rate is at ฿60,000 Thai Baht per month but depending on experience.
