The St Vincent de Paul Society, commonly known as Vinnies, is an international organization formed in 1833 in France to respond to the needs of the poor and marginalized. Established in Australia in 1854, Vinnies has grown into a significant charitable organization with over 45,000 members and volunteers who assist individuals experiencing poverty and inequality. Operating as a lay Catholic organization, our mission is rooted in the principles of compassion, charity, and social justice. We aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, offering over 200 services that span various areas including homelessness, domestic violence, mental health support, and education.

Through our community programs, Vinnies provides immediate support as well as long-term solutions to social issues, aiming to address the underlying causes of disadvantage. We emphasize the dignity and worth of each individual, and our volunteers and members work tirelessly to support the most vulnerable populations in our communities. Our services include home visitation for direct assistance, retail stores offering affordable goods, and various initiatives to advocate for social justice and equality.
