SPH Engineering

SPH Engineering began in Latvia in 2013 after its founder recognized that drones were essentially computers with motors, propellers, and sensors, and therefore required intelligent software to operate safely and effectively. At a time when professional drone inspections were expensive, technically complex, and served by few dedicated tools, the company set out to develop universal mission-planning and flight-control software. That work became UgCS, which grew into an industry-standard platform used by drone pilots and surveyors in more than 150 countries.

SPH Engineering subsequently expanded beyond flight planning into integrated airborne sensing systems. Projects involving ground-penetrating radar, magnetometers, echo sounders, methane detectors, and other sensors led to the UgCS Integrated Systems line and its SkyHub integration hardware. The company also developed Drone Show Software for coordinating drone-light-show fleets and combined its consulting, SDK, and data-processing capabilities under SPH Consulting & Development. Today, the company develops software, hardware, and custom solutions for mapping, geophysical and hydrographic surveys, industrial inspection, environmental monitoring, research, and entertainment.
