Position Summary
The Quality Systems Coordinator is responsible for maintaining, improving, and governing the organization’s Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS). This role ensures compliance with HACCP, GFSI, SQF, and relevant regulatory standards, while supporting continuous improvement across food safety, quality, and operational workflows. The position requires strong system ownership, excellent documentation discipline, and the capability to lead or support internal and external audits.

Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and improve HACCP systems within high-risk food manufacturing environments (RTE/chilled/cooked).
- Develop, govern, and continuously refine the Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS).
- Manage document control, system updates, and governance of food safety documentation.
- Oversee Prerequisite Programs (PRPs) such as cleaning, allergen control, pest control, and traceability.
- Support and lead external audits including SQF, regulatory, and customer audits; prepare audit materials, coordinate activities, and manage responses and corrective action plans (CAPAs).
- Conduct or support internal audits and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare structured reporting for monthly management review meetings, track follow-up actions, and drive accountability.
- Monitor, analyze, and report FSQA KPIs, trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, NPD, and Commercial teams to ensure system alignment and adherence to standards.
- Ensure compliance with FSANZ, DAFF, and retail customer requirements (e.g., Coles Group Supplier Excellence).
Key Qualifications
- Solid experience in Quality Systems and HACCP implementation within high-risk food manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of GFSI standards—particularly SQF—as well as certification and audit readiness processes
- Understanding of FSANZ and DAFF regulatory requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
- Comes from a structured, process-driven environment with high audit exposure
- Comfortable working remotely with an Australian business and aligning to local regulatory and customer expectations
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to operate with high level ownership
