Overview

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) is looking for Data Analyst/Modellers with experience in exploring datasets and designing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes across several data and analytics platforms.

The role will be responsible for analysis and design activities across several data movement and transformation processes within DAFF. These data movement and transformation processes are in the process of being uplifted to Microsoft Azure.

The successful candidate will require experience with the following techniques and technologies:

1. Dimensional Data Modelling

1. Data Warehouse, Lakehouse and Data Mesh architectures

1. MS Azure Stack

1. Data Integration

1. Data Factory

1. SQL Server Integration Services

1. Databricks

1. SQL Server

1. Blob/File Storage

1. Data Lakes

1. Cosmos DB

1. Databricks

1. Azure Machine Learning

Desirable Experience working in agile delivery methodologies (e.g. Scaled Agile Frameworks)

Essential Criteria Weighting

1. Experience designing ETL/ELT processes for data movement and transformation. 25%

2. Experience exploring and analysing structured and non-structured data for ingestion into data transformation processes 25%

3. Azure Cloud technology experience working with Engineering, Storage and Analytics services. 25%

4. Working with multi-disciplinary teams using an Agile methodology 25%

Desirable Criteria Weighting

1. Experience working with Infrastructure as Code delivery (Terraform) 50%

2. Experience working with Data Lakes 50%
