We are now looking for Senior Accountants to join our growing Australian team!

Position Duties

  • Transaction Recording: Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting processes to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
  • Ledger Verification: Verify that all transactions are correctly recorded in the ledger and perform partial checks on posting processes to maintain data integrity.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to align company records with bank statements.
  • Data Management: Enter data, maintain accurate financial records, and generate detailed reports for management.
  • Accounts Management: Process accounts receivable and payable transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Management Accounts: Assist in the preparation of management accounts to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

Other Responsibilities

  • Full Set of Accounts: Maintain full sets of books for a portfolio of clients, including managing fixed asset registers, raising journals, and preparing financial reports using Xero.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare Quarterly/Annual BAS (Business Activity Statements) and IAS (Instalment Activity Statements) to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Client Payroll: Provide payroll support for clients, ensuring accurate and compliant processing.
  • Software Management: Manage Xero and Dext accounts for clients, ensuring smooth operation and accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the bookkeeping and tax accounting teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Client Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients to address queries and provide updates.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Understand and comply with Australian financial regulations to ensure legal and ethical practices.

Requirements

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance to ensure foundational knowledge in the field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience working in an Australian public accounting firm, demonstrating familiarity with local tax and accounting practices.
  • Professional Certifications: Certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CA are a definite plus, reflecting advanced expertise and commitment to the profession.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Excel Expertise: Strong command of Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
    • Xero Proficiency: Experience with Xero is mandatory, and being a Certified User is preferred to ensure efficiency in accounting processes.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Self-Motivation: A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a positive attitude to excel in a dynamic work environment.
    • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage effectively with clients and team members.
