AU Architectural Draftsman
Purpose:The position’s primary responsibility is to create technical drawings to help design floor plans to build real estate or architectural projects. This highly-trained draftsman will work with architects and engineers to design and create 3D computer models of buildings from blueprints or from scratch.
To be successful as an architectural draftsman, you should possess solid knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, and the ability to apply the fundamentals of sketching and design.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare technical drawings using Revit CAD software
- Work with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet their
- Provide full set of documents for building permit
- Write related technical documents such as material lists and cost estimates
- Ensure that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards
- Maintain a library of standard drawing templates
- Update existing drawings as new information becomes available
- Using CAD software to create drawings that incorporate exact measurements, calculations, building codes, and other construction details.
- Preparing drawings, charts, and records with CAD equipment and conventional drafting
- Entering CAD data into building information modeling (BIM) systems to create 3-D models and renderings
- Collaborating with architects and construction engineers to ensure adherence to building specifications and industry regulations.
Requirements
- Must have a relevant experience as an Architectural Draftsman.
- Knowledge of Australian construction codes and requirements is a MUST
- Experience in using Revit and Adobe Suite
- Written and verbal communication skills
- An individual thinker and is able to take direction
- In-depth knowledge of building design, specifications, codes, and structural analysis.
- Ability to apply the fundamentals of sketching and design.
