Manager, Program and Operations

Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation

Salary: 122k-142k USD

United States only
We are seeking a versatile, mission-driven rising leader to join our team and play a key role in both program leadership and organizational operations.
This role is great for someone ambitious and eager to grow - excited to wear a few different hats and gain experience across program management and operations. You'll move fluidly between owning key partner relationships, coordinating events, and strengthening operational workstreams, thriving in the mix that comes with supporting an agile, purpose-driven team.
Your primary responsibility will be leading the Goldberg Scholar Program - managing partnerships, events, and scholar support to expand opportunities and ensure scholars thrive academically, professionally, and personally.
In addition, you’ll help strengthen the Foundation’s finance and operations by managing day-to-day processes such as payments and vendor support. Your efforts will keep our systems efficient and reliable, providing the infrastructure that enables our programs and people to succeed.
The ideal candidate is strategic and detail-oriented, with the ability to own projects from start to finish. You are as comfortable designing efficient systems as you are building strong relationships with scholars, alumni, partners, and leadership. Above all, you are collaborative and passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders.

What You Will Do

Partnerships

  • Serve as the primary contact for all scholarship partners – including employer, nonprofit, and community partners. Foster relationships that advance the program's mission.
  • Cultivate and expand employer partnerships to create a robust internship and job pipeline
  • Represent the Foundation at partner events and in community settings

Scholar Experience and Programming

  • Support scholars in accessing professional, academic, and leadership opportunities.
  • Lead planning and execution of the annual scholar conference (100+ participants), managing both logistics and program content.
  • Design and manage scholar engagement activities throughout the year (workshops, networking, webinars).
  • Track scholar progress and outcomes.
  • Prepare materials for leadership engagements with scholars and partners.

Finance

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance processes, including accounts payable management and financial disbursements.
  • Own the monthly close process, ensuring all deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Build on automation efforts to streamline recurring finance workflows.

Operations

  • Provide support in evaluating and enhancing foundation-wide processes, recommending improvements in technology and systems to increase efficiency.
  • Coordinate logistical and operational needs for scholar programs and Foundation-wide events.
  • Lead ad hoc projects as needed.

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of experience, ideally in program or project management.
  • Strong relationship-building and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills, with significant attention to detail.
  • Financial and operational management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to expanding opportunities for young leaders.

What We Will Offer You

  • The base salary for this role varies by location: $122,400-$127,800 (National) / $136,000-$142,000 (Bay Area/New York Metro), with the final amount depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, full-time employees are also eligible for a performance-based bonus of up to 10% of their annual salary.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with 4% employer match, unlimited PTO, and more!
  • The opportunity to help shape the people function of a mission-driven organization.
  • A collaborative, supportive, and mission-driven team culture.
  • A remote-first work environment with flexible scheduling.
