Role Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for a Commercial Acquisition and Partnerships Lead to support the origination and acquisition of new sites for Rowan’s growing portfolio of digital infrastructure developments. This role will provide senior leadership in defining and negotiating commercial arrangements with potential partners, such as joint ventures and portfolio or project acquisitions. The Commercial Lead will join a team of experienced real estate, development and site selection experts and provide expertise in areas of real estate partnership structuring, market valuations, and acquisition structures working closely with internal legal and finance teams.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully structuring, negotiating and ultimately implementing mergers and acquisitions in real estate, energy, data center or industrial development space will have excellent strategic thinking and negotiation skills, commercial real estate expertise, M&A experience, organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% for company gatherings or to project sites.
Location: Denver, CO or Seattle, WA (hybrid in-office role). Highly qualified remote candidates will be considered on a case by case basis.
Compensation: $170-$235K - Offers Bonus
Essential Responsibilities
Develop commercial terms for agreements such as acquisitions, joint ventures or shared equity agreements and negotiate terms with external parties
Build the business case and work with the Rowan executive team to obtain buy in and approvals, including the Board of Directors
Develop project acquisition incentives structures
Identify project (or portfolio) acquisition opportunities and structure purchase terms
Support the real estate and origination teams with expertise in market analysis and pricing added market value
Partner with internal experts across Rowan to understand Rowan’s priorities
Represent Rowan externally to potential partners and industry representatives
Support the growth of the site origination team and of Rowan by helping to establish good project diligence and reporting practices, and improving processes and systems as we scale
Education, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, real estate, law, engineering or development) and at least eight (8) years of experience in real estate, commercial partnership structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate finance including complex commercial negotiations with sophisticated parties
Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization
Experience developing new programs, tools and guidance and driving organizational approval and adoption
Experience leading complex cross-functional efforts and owning key project metrics around risk, strategy and schedule
Knowledge of data center industry, key issues and trends
Experience with data center site development
Experience with project financial fundamentals and modeling principles
Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Comfort working with ambiguity
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional environment
