Your mission

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior 3GPP Core and Security Architect with specialized expertise in protocol customization to join our dynamic team. As a Senior 3GPP Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing telecommunications systems and protocols according to the latest 3GPP standards. Your primary responsibility will be to customize and tailor protocol specifications to meet the requirements of Rivada Space Systems Outernet.

This includes:

• Leading the architecture and design of telecommunications systems based on 3GPP standards, ensuring compliance and interoperability
  · Customizing and extending existing protocol specifications to address specific project needs, incorporating new features and functionalities, main focus will be on the core network and security aspects of 3GPP and tailor it to suite Rivada’s use case.
  · Collaborating with cross-functional teams including software engineers, system architects, and product managers to define and implement protocol customization requirements
  · Conducting thorough analysis and evaluation of protocol performance, identifying areas for optimization and improvement
  · Staying updated on the latest advancements in 3GPP standards and telecommunications technologies, integrating relevant developments into our projects and solutions
  · Driving innovation and contributing to the development of new protocols, algorithms, and techniques to enhance the performance and capabilities of our telecommunications systems
  

What you bring on the table

• Successfully completed a degree in Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  · Extensive experience in telecommunications, with a focus on 3GPP standards and protocols :
  o 3GPP core Network and Security procedure for Access control
  o Signalling and network aspects for 3GPP access and non-3GPP access

o User plane and data routing

o Signalling procedures: UE Registration, Authentication, Security Keys derivations
o Familiarization with RAN protocols and signalling procedures
o Downlink and uplink transmission schemes
o UE Identities : IMSI, IMEI, SUPI / SUCI, TMSI, RNTI
· Proven expertise in protocol customization, including hands-on experience with modifying and extending protocol specifications
· Strong understanding of wireless communication principles, including radio access networks (RAN), core network (CN), and protocols such as LTE, NR, and 5G
· Familiar with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) concepts
· Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages like Python for protocol customization and implementation
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize protocol performance
· Effective communication skills and demonstrated leadership experience
· Experienced in waterfall and agile methodologies
· Strong vendor and suppliers management
· Excellent written and spoken English
