We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to help us build scalable, high-performance systems and shape the future of our backend architecture.
This role can be performed remotely or from our Malta office (hybrid model).
responsibilities
Your day-to-day will include:
- Designing and developing backend features on a highly scalable and resilient platform
- Contributing to the evolution of a modern microservices architecture
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a strong focus on performance and reliability
- Participating in architectural decisions and technology selection
- Working in a test-driven development environment
- Collaborating closely with developers, QA engineers, and product teams
- Performing code reviews and ensuring high engineering standards
- Analysing functional requirements and translating them into technical solutions
- Managing your own priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Continuously improving systems through monitoring, optimisation, and best practices
qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a backend software engineer, and master Python or Go as a programming language
- You are familiar with DevOps practices and containerization technologies on cloud-based environments
- You have experience in distributed systems and micro service architectures
- You have a proventrack recordfrom working with heavy transactional systems
- You care about software quality; you care about software engineering, and you want to make a difference
- You have good attention to detail
- You can work with minimal supervision
- You have a good command of both verbal and written English
- Having a degree in Information Technology or another related field would be considered an advantage
