Director, Design Engineering - Hardware

Hims & Hers is seeking a Director of Design Engineering to lead the development of hardware products, bridge design and manufacturing teams, and oversee the transition from prototype to production. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in mechanical or design engineering, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and strong leadership and technical skills.

Requirements

• Establish and scale the Design Engineering discipline within the Design organization.
• Hire, mentor, and manage a team of Mechanical, Electrical, Packaging, Firmware and Sourcing engineers and cross-disciplinary contributors.
• Develop team processes, tools, and documentation standards for design for manufacturability (DFM), material selection, and prototyping.
• Translate design intent into detailed engineering specifications and production-ready documentation.
• Provide deep technical guidance and expertise in areas such as materials development, mechanical engineering, and integration of electrical components and firmware.
