Principal Financial Analyst - REMOTE

Job Description

The Principal Financial Analyst is responsible for providing leadership on empowering the financial analysis and reporting related to various business areas within Prime. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining the assumptions and models in support of the Pricing and Underwriting forecasting process. This position is also responsible for developing new financial reporting models, process efficiency improvements, and ad-hoc analytics. This position will be a partner to the departments it supports and will also frequently collaborate with other corporate departments to execute on financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as a subject matter expert (SME) with underwriters and senior management on pricing initiatives, data analyses, and the Request For Proposal (RFP) processes

  • Lead and manage data analyses, reporting, and projections in support of PBM pricing processes

  • Review complex pharmacy data to help investigate and answer challenging questions

  • Provide strategic pricing advice on structures and methodology using market research, financial projections, and complex actuarial modeling

  • Develop, summarize, and present financial forecasting results and impact analyses to clients and senior management

  • Monitor the PBM environment in consideration of business impacts from government policies, market events, and healthcare trends

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, Accounting or Finance or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

  • 8 years of experience in programming, financial modeling, accounting and/or financial analysis

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Expert level of proficiency in Excel, VBA, and SQL

  • Excellent quantitative, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Strong team player with effective communication and presentation skills as well as a customer service approach

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated competence at financial planning, reporting, and forecasting

  • Superior analytical skills, attention to detail, process leadership, and interpersonal communication skills including matrix leadership, conflict resolution, and listening

  • Ability to adapt and multi-task

  • Proven ability to define and drive processes and build relationships cross-functionally to lead to common goals

  • Action-oriented ability to identify and implement opportunities

  • Advanced business acumen and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • PBM, Healthcare Economics, and/or Medicare knowledge

  • Proficient in Python

  • Previous experience in developing financial forecast models and working with PBM underwriters

  • Previous experience in identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients’ complex pharmacy benefit challenges

  • Experience working with databases to retrieve and analyze data

Potential pay for this position ranges from $94,000.00 - $160,000.00 based on experience and skills.
