Asthe firm continues to grow, Pitre James is seeking aSenior Accounting Managertostep into a key leadership role within the organization. This is a high-impactposition that will contribute directly to firm operations, client delivery, andlong-term growth.

Thisopportunity is best suited for an experienced accounting professional who isconfident working independently, thrives in a dynamic environment, and brings astrong sense of ownership and accountability. The successful candidate willoversee complex engagements, contribute to strategic decision-making, and playan active role in shaping the future of the firm. As the successful candidate,you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex client files whileensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality accounting, tax, and advisoryservices. You will lead review engagements, support advanced tax planninginitiatives, and build strong client relationships, while also identifyingopportunities to improve processes and enhance overall efficiency.

Additionalresponsibilities will include:

  • Leadand review compilation and review engagements, ensuring accuracy, quality, andtimeliness across all deliverables;
  • Prepareand review complex corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns for adiverse client base;
  • Supportand execute advanced tax planning strategies and corporate reorganizations;
  • Managelarger and more complex corporate group structures, providing insight andguidance to clients;
  • Collaborateclosely with firm leadership on operational decisions, workflow management, andlong-term planning;
  • Monitorengagement budgets, timelines, and overall file performance, ensuring deadlinesare consistently met;
  • Buildand maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor andprimary point of contact;
  • Identifyand implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, andclient service delivery;
  • Provideguidance, mentorship, and support to junior team members as required;
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuousimprovement.

Requirements

  • Highlyself-sufficient with strong technical expertise and the ability to operateindependently in a remote environment;
  • Strategicthinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sounddecisions in real time;
  • Collaborativeand adaptable, with the judgment to know when to seek input and when to takeinitiative;
  • Strongbusiness acumen, with an interest in contributing beyond core technical work;
  • Exceptionalcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust withclients and colleagues;
  • Detail-orientedwith a high standard of accuracy and accountability;
  • Comfortableworking in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities.

Qualifications

  • CPAdesignation (required) or equivalent depth of experience;
  • 7+years of progressive public practice experience, with exposure to complexengagements;
  • Strongknowledge of ASPE and Canadian tax (corporate, personal, and trust);
  • Demonstratedexperience with review engagements and financial reporting;
  • Experiencewith CaseWare/CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Previousexperience working in a remote or hybrid environment is considered an asset.

Thisfull-time opportunity offers a competitive total compensation package in therange of $100,000 to $130,000 annually, plus benefits, with the opportunity forincreased responsibility and compensation growth over time.

Thisrole is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere in Canada. Theposition is best suited for a senior professional who is comfortable takingownership of their portfolio, managing deadlines independently, andcontributing at a leadership level within a collaborative, high-performingteam.

Whilethis is a full-time position, there is flexibility in how work is structuredfor the right candidate. Pitre James values accountability and outcomes,providing autonomy while fostering a supportive and growth-orientedenvironment.
