With a strong focus on tax strategy,advisory, and relationship-driven service, the firm works with a diverse clientbase across corporate, personal, and trust engagements.

Asthe firm continues to grow, Pitre James is seeking an Accountant to join theircollaborative team environment. This opportunity is ideal for an ambitiousaccounting professional who is eager to continue developing their technicalexpertise while gaining exposure to advanced tax planning, complex reorganizations,and increasingly sophisticated client work.

Thisrole is well suited for someone who enjoys working independently, values strongclient relationships, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work in aflexible and growth-oriented environment.

Asthe successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing a variety ofclient engagements while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-qualityaccounting, tax, and advisory services. You will work closely with firmleadership and gain valuable exposure to complex files and strategic taxinitiatives in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

Additionalresponsibilities will include:

  • Preparecompilation and review engagements for a diverse portfolio of owner-managedbusinesses;
  • Preparecorporate, personal, and trust income tax returns with accuracy and attentionto detail;
  • Assistwith advanced tax planning strategies and complex corporate reorganizations;
  • Workon larger corporate group structures and more technically challengingengagements;
  • Developand maintain strong relationships with clients through responsive and proactivecommunication;
  • Monitorengagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure deadlines areconsistently met;
  • Collaboratewith team members on client files and contribute to a positive, team-orientedenvironment;
  • Participatein internal training and ongoing professional development opportunities;
  • Identifyopportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall client servicedelivery;
  • Contributeto a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strongtechnical foundation in Canadian accounting and tax principles;
  • Abilityto work independently while remaining collaborative and team-oriented;
  • Strongorganizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competingpriorities;
  • Detail-orientedwith a high standard of accuracy and accountability;
  • Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Comfortableworking in a flexible remote or hybrid environment;
  • Motivatedto continue learning and developing professionally within public practice.

Qualifications

  • CPAdesignation completed or in progress, with near completion considered;
  • Recentpublic practice experience required;
  • 3–5years of progressive accounting experience in public practice preferred;
  • Strongknowledge of ASPE and Canadian tax for corporations, individuals, and trusts;
  • Experiencepreparing review engagements and financial reporting files;
  • Experiencewith CaseWare/CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Experiencewith complex tax planning or reorganizations is considered an asset;
  • Equivalentlong-term public practice experience may be considered in lieu of designation.

Thisfull-time opportunity offers a competitive total compensation package in therange of $70,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications,along with benefits and ongoing professional development support. Additionalbenefits include extended health and dental coverage after 3 months, paidprofessional development and training opportunities tailored to career growth,paid personal days, flexible work schedules, and 3 weeks’ vacation to start.

Thisrole can be performed remotely or from the firm’s modern downtownKelownaoffice, depending on the successfulcandidate’s preference and location.
