SUMMARY:

The Summer Intern, Process Development with assist with and independently perform various research and development tasks, laboratory work, and data analysis in the Pierre Fabre Pharmaceuticals Process Development lab for the development of cell therapy process development. The intern will be trained on all necessary safety requirements and assigned a project aimed at optimizing a commercial cell therapy manufacturing process. The intern will gain knowledge and experience around aseptic cell culture techniques, cell therapy process development, cell based analytical techniques, and statistical data analysis.

Internship will be a part time position, typically working on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for approximately 4-6 hours per day; up to 6 hours per day, 3 days per week. Hours may vary slightly depending on ongoing lab activities. The intern will be reporting into the Senior Director, Process Sciences. This internship will end approximately August 22nd.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Train on all relevant laboratory safety procedures
  • Learn relevant aseptic cell culture techniques
  • Execute pre-defined study designed to optimize a commercial cell therapy manufacturing process
  • Maintain multiple cell cultures on an ongoing basis throughout internship
  • Learn and perform analytical methods including cell counting, viability, flow cytometry, proliferation rate
  • Documents laboratory procedures and experiments with great attention to detail
  • Learn and perform statistical data analysis

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current high school or undergraduate student with good academic standing
  • Ability to learn quickly and translate training into independent execution of laboratory activities

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in a wet laboratory or office environment.

LOCATION:

  • Aurora, CO

SALARY RANGE: $20/hour

This range represents the base annual full-time salary for all positions within the applicable job grade. The actual salary offer will depend on a range of factors including experience, education, location, and other relevant qualifications. This position is also eligible for a Pierre Fabre bonus, commission, or incentive program in addition to the base pay.
