Performativ began in 2020 after co-founder and CEO Albert Geisler Fox encountered the difficulties of replacing legacy systems at a prominent Scandinavian wealth management firm. The replacement process was slow, costly, and dependent on substantial manual work. Fox shared that frustration with Peter Barry, whose experience at financial institutions including Goldman Sachs and BlackRock helped shape the company's founding vision: a unified operating system for modern wealth management.
