Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Part Time Technical Writer. This hired individual will Author and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP), standardized communication templates, and SharePoint sites, in support of CFTC Cloud infrastructure team. Peraton serves as a valued partner to essential government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, civilian, health, and state and local markets. Every day, our employees do the can’t be done, solving the most daunting challenges facing our customers. This is a remote position.
What you will do:
- Author and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP), standardized communication templates, and SharePoint sites.
- Translating technical information into requirements documentation.
- Create various weekly, biweekly, and monthly reports.
- Draft, expand, refine, and edit architecture documents, technical concepts or solutions into an easy to read, comprehensive, compliant and compelling documents.
- Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and government regulations.
- Create compelling White Papers and other documents.
- Interact with the customer and technical team members for content development.
- Become familiar and comply with government style guides.
- Oversees the editing of material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.
- Edits manuscripts by reviewing content for completeness, accuracy and correctness of language use and revises manuscripts to meet predetermined standards of style and accuracy.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum 2 years of documented technical writing and editing experience. Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably with employees at all levels in an engineering environment.
- Experience in juggling multiple priorities and being able to adapt to changing requirements and evolving needs
- Ability to understand, digest, and distill complex technical topics into plain language.
- Ability to analyze a problem or process and suggest improvements.
- Willingness/ability to learn new technologies.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance (Public Trust).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal or Government contracting and consulting experience is a plus.
- Must excel at working both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, and ability to deliver quality support under tight or shifting deadlines with grace and maturity.
