Using our Skills-based Education framework, you will develop cutting-edge learning solutions that focus on enhancing student experiences and improving learning quality. Your work will help bridge real-world skills with job placement and performance, ensuring learner success is our key metric. You will partner with cross-functional teams to iterate and scale learning models aligned with organizational goals.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead the design and delivery of high-quality content and learning experiences grounded in Skills-based Education principles (learner-centered, authentic, active, and differentiated learning).
- Serve as the learning design expert, advocating for the learner perspective and pedagogical integrity throughout course development.
- Drive end-to-end course development projects ensuring quality, scalability, and measurable impact.
- Evaluate course content and learning objectives for pedagogical effectiveness and accessibility, incorporating universal design principles.
- Leverage data, analytics, and learner feedback to iterate on course design and improve engagement and outcomes.
- Integrate emerging learning technologies to create innovative, personalized learning experiences.
- Contribute to and uphold Penn Foster’s Quality of Learning standards by implementing measurable improvements to course quality.
- Stay up to date with advancements in learning science, online education, and educational technology to ensure learning solutions remain innovative and evidence-based.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in learning design, instructional design, or curriculum development.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Learning Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field.
- Learning Science Expertise: Deep understanding of learning theory, instructional design models, and cognitive psychology.
- Data Literacy: Proficiency in analyzing learner data to guide course design and continuous improvement.
- Instructional Technology: Proficiency in learning management systems and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar).
- Strategic and Collaborative Skills: Ability to balance big-picture vision with practical delivery, and effectively collaborate across functions.
- Creativity and Innovation: Ability to transform ideas into engaging, learner-centered solutions that scale.
