Responsibilities

The Director of Provider Enrollment is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the comprehensive provider enrollment and credentialing process within the healthcare organization. This position drives the end-to-end strategy for integrating new healthcare providers into the organization's network, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high-quality standards.The director will lead a team of enrollment specialists, develop and implement efficient enrollment workflows, and collaborate across multiple departments to streamline the credentialing and onboarding processes

  • Strategic Process Management: Develop and implement comprehensive provider enrollment strategies that optimize efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and ensure timely and accurate onboarding of healthcare providers across the organization's network.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Maintain strict adherence to state and federal credentialing/provider enrollment regulations, manage compliance documentation, conduct regular audits, and develop robust quality control processes to mitigate risks and ensure the highest standards of provider enrollment.
  • Team Leadership and Performance Optimization: Direct and mentor a team of provider enrollment specialists and managers, establishing performance metrics, conducting performance evaluations, providing professional development opportunities, and creating a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Technology and Data Management: Oversee the implementation and utilization of provider enrollment software and vendors, ensure data integrity across enrollment systems, develop reporting mechanisms, and leverage technology to streamline credentialing/provider enrollment workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Relationship Management:Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments, healthcare providers, medical staff, credentialing organizations, and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships, resolving complex enrollment challenges, and ensuring smooth communication throughout the provider onboarding process.
  • Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Degree preferred
    • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
    • Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
    • 5 years experience in healthcare and provider enrollment
    • 2 years of previous leadership experience required
    • Knowledge of credentialing standards, which includes state and federal regulations as well as hospital regulations and NCQA standards
    • Proven track record of successfully managing complex provider enrollment operations

    • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multiple departments
