JOB DESCRIPTION

As we continue to grow, we are in search of an experienced Fractional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a focus on AI. The successful candidate will join our highly skilled and motivated team of serial entrepreneurs and former CTOs. This is an opportunity to engage with the vibrant startup ecosystem of the Toronto-Waterloo corridor and potentially take on the CTO role in different startups. This contractual role carries the potential for transitioning to a full-time position in the future. The position is immediately available for candidates located anywhere in Canada, with a preference for individuals with prior consulting or contractual experience.

MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in AI-focused projects, including but not limited to Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, etc.
• Experience leading or managing technical teams in AI-centric startups.
• Demonstrable experience with AI/ML models development, deployment, and management.
• Expertise in AI project scoping, cost estimation, and product road mapping.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms and software architecture design patterns.
• Proficiency in AI-focused development and deployment in cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Agile Project Management and Lean Startup methodologies within the context of AI projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

GREAT TO HAVE:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a technical co-founder of an AI-based startup.
• Software development consulting or freelance experience with AI-focused startups.

LOCATION: Based in Canada

JOB TYPE: Contract

Hourly Rate: 120 - 170 CAD
