View company profile

At the heart of Normal Computing is a culture of intellectual curiosity and a shared mission to rewrite the foundations of artificial intelligence. Founded in 2022 by a visionary team of engineers and scientists from Google Brain, Google X, and Palantir, the company is driven by the belief that the true potential of AI lies in its ability to reliably reason about the physical world. This belief permeates every aspect of their work, from the development of their groundbreaking thermodynamic computing hardware to their full-stack probabilistic software infrastructure. The team fosters an environment where individual ownership is paramount, yet deep partnership and collaboration are the norms, especially when working with the world's largest semiconductor design and manufacturing institutions.

Normal Computing's culture is defined by a relentless pursuit of 'zero defects' in complex hardware engineering, a goal that requires not just technical excellence but a profound commitment to precision and reliability. The company values diversity and inclusion, bringing together a lean, global team across New York City, San Francisco, London, and Copenhagen. They champion a 'Physics + ML' approach, encouraging their engineers to bridge the gap between abstract algorithms and the tangible laws of thermodynamics. This interdisciplinary spirit is central to their identity, as they seek to solve mission-critical problems in sectors like semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain management, and banking. By empowering their employees to tackle these high-stakes challenges, Normal Computing cultivates a workplace where innovation is not just a buzzword, but a daily practice of pushing the boundaries of what is physically and computationally possible.
