The Systems Administrator II is responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Summit Funding’s technology infrastructure. The role also provides backfill support for Tier I, and Tier III support for escalated end-user issues and contributes to ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services (e.g.: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune).
  • Manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity governance.
  • Configure and maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS/DHCP, and hybrid identity solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Administer network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership on infrastructure planning and lifecycle management.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and scheduled maintenance, may include occasional weekends.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum 3–5 years in systems administration with hybrid-cloud environments.
  • BA Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert) preferred.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
