Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack / Systems)

Location: United States (Remote)

Compensation: $50/hour (Contract)

Engagement Type: Contract (20–40 hours per week)

NextGen Coding Company is a U.S.-based software engineering firm delivering custom platforms, AI systems, automation tools, and enterprise applications for clients across financial services, healthcare, compliance technology, and operational automation.

The company is expanding its senior engineering team and is seeking highly experienced engineers capable of operating independently in a consulting environment. Ideal candidates have built multiple production systems across different industries and technology stacks and are comfortable owning complex technical work from architecture through deployment.

Candidates must be comfortable working autonomously, solving unfamiliar problems quickly, and delivering reliable software without heavy oversight.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build scalable production software systems
• Develop full-stack applications across modern frontend and backend frameworks
• Build APIs, data pipelines, automation systems, and internal tools
• Contribute to system architecture and technical planning for client engagements
• Deliver production-quality code with minimal supervision
• Review code and enforce engineering standards
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems
• Work collaboratively with delivery managers, QA, and designers to ship software reliably
• Document systems, architecture decisions, and implementation details

Required Experience

• 10+ years professional software development experience
• Experience delivering multiple production systems across different industries
• Strong full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend technologies
• Experience designing system architecture and scalable applications
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and codebases
• Experience working in remote or distributed engineering teams
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with product, design, and delivery teams

Technical Skills

Engineers should be comfortable across many modern technologies, including:

Frontend

• React
• Next.js
• TypeScript
• modern CSS frameworks

Backend

• Python
• Node.js
• REST APIs
• distributed systems

Data

• PostgreSQL
• NoSQL databases
• data pipelines and integrations

Infrastructure

• AWS / GCP / Azure
• Docker
• CI/CD pipelines
• cloud deployments

Experience with AI integrations, automation systems, or data platforms is a strong plus.
