Responsible for technical and scientific expertise and product training for all pet health products (Equine and Companion Animal) by performing and overseeing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides technical service and scientific support to sales and marketing teams for pet health (Equine and Companion Animal) products and services. These roles include in-field support, coaching and development of the sales team; technical marketing support; travel to industry conferences and events; coordinating pharmacovigilance, product inquiry and adverse event communication at the field level; development and delivery of training content to internal and external stakeholders; development and delivery of continuing education and customer education to customers and sales prospects. As such, this role is a liaison between Neogen and its Pet Health Customers and teams.
  • Provides scientific evaluation of Pet Health products and services for new product development, line extension or acquisition. This includes the identification of new targets as well as contribution of technical expertise in evaluation of identified opportunities.
  • Assists in developing budgets for product development, professional service and sales support functions.
  • Writes product information sheets, technical materials, tech bulletins, competitor product data sheets. This position understands the competitive landscape for both equine and dog/cat industries. Creates and maintains presentations for use in the field in conjunction with appropriate marketing support.
  • Attends industry trade shows and meetings to (1) present technical and product information; (2) promote products and services; (3) maintain market and competitive knowledge; (4) identify new products for distribution, OEM or development and (5) to further educate sales personnel.
  • Work directly with animal health associations and veterinary professional organizations to increase Neogen involvement with sponsorship and promote and enhance our scientific and professional image.
  • Establish liaison relationship with key organizations to promote and enhance the image of Neogen.
  • Organize, initiate, or participate in field research trials, including preparation for publication.
  • Monitor industry trends and the regulatory environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Veterinary degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years veterinary practice experience in Equine and Companion Animal, with practice post-doctoral training, advanced degrees, or board certification beneficial.
  • Equine practice experience a must. Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills, including development of presentations; and the ability to translate complex scientific information to all audiences.
  • Deep working knowledge of the animal health market
  • Ability to travel 30%-50%, depending on company needs
  • Well organized, self-motivated and adaptable
  • Business acumen and a customer-centric mindset
