Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a seasoned Java Developer to join our backend engineering team. This role involves working on scalable services and API integrations for a project with a Fortune 500 client. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in building high-performance backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize robust backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Architect backend services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for integration with the frontend and external systems
- Conduct peer code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best coding practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure high system performance and availability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications
- Contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines and software delivery workflows
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests to uphold code quality
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes
Must-Have Skills
- Proficient in backend development using Java and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with Microservices architecture and design patterns
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development
- Experience in backend system performance optimization
- Proficient with Git and build tools like Maven or Gradle
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., CircleCI)
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in production-critical environments
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability in delivering quality software
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
