The Financial Content Strategist creates high-quality, compliant, and engaging educational content that helps people better understand financial products and make informed decisions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, education, business, or related major
- 2-3 years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, and/or financial services
- Strong understanding of personal finance concepts
- Familiarity with credit union and bank product structures and terminology
- Understanding of regulatory considerations for financial content
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Strong research skills and ability to verify accuracy
- Comfort working with content management systems
- Basic understanding of SEO principles
- Ability to work with style guides and editorial standards
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with compliance, product, marketing, and other teams
- Receptive to feedback and interactive editing processes
- Empathy for diverse audiences learning financial topics
- Ability to structure content for clarity, flow, and educational impact
- Attention to accessibility and inclusive language
- Time management and meeting deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple topics simultaneously

- 3-5 years of experience in relevant jobs
- Advanced knowledge of financial products and services
- Experience driving content strategy for web or digital experiences
- Ability to analyze content performance metrics and recommend improvements
- Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) preferred
- 5+ years of experience in relevant jobs
- Mentorship and leadership capability
- Experience with stakeholder management in regulated industries
- Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) required
