This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Job Description
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Officer to lead the charge in managing our invoicing, reconciliation, and collections processes. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, providing top-tier support to our customers, and mentoring the AR team.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a proactive approach to problem-solving, and is passionate about improving systems and processes. Someone who’s comfortable navigating ambiguity, can work independently, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and take initiative when the path isn't clearly defined.
What You’ll Do
Maintain and update the billing system to ensure accurate, real-time information
Generate invoices, credit notes, and account statements with precision and timeliness
Perform account reconciliations and support the month-end close
Monitor customer accounts and drive collections, reducing aged debt
Investigate discrepancies, communicate with customers, and resolve queries with professionalism
Prepare AR performance analysis to support leadership decision-making
Coach and support the AR team, helping improve efficiency and service levels
Identify opportunities to streamline AR processes and implement improvements
Exercise discretion and integrity in handling confidential financial data
Qualifications
Proven experience as a senior accounts receivable officer, ideally in high-volume environments
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and fair credit practices
Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
Confidence working autonomously and making decisions without constant direction
Ability to navigate change, manage competing priorities, and stay calm under pressure
Excellent communication skills and experience in building client relationships
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Xero and Cin7 (preferred)
