About MicroTransponder

MicroTransponder, Inc. is dedicated to transforming the lives of stroke survivors through its innovative neurostimulation technology. The company's flagship product, the FDA-approved Vivistim® Paired VNS™ System, enhances stroke rehabilitation by pairing vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) with physical and occupational therapy. This approach leverages the brain's neuroplasticity to improve upper limb function, offering new hope to those with chronic arm and hand impairments following an ischemic stroke.

By integrating this therapy into rehabilitation programs, MicroTransponder aims to help stroke survivors regain independence in daily activities and enhance their quality of life. The company's commitment to advancing stroke recovery is evident in its ongoing research and collaboration with healthcare providers to make this therapy accessible to more patients.

View company profile

MicroTransponder Inc. is a pioneering medical device company headquartered in Austin, Texas, dedicated to transforming the lives of patients suffering from chronic neurological conditions. Founded in 2007 by Jordan Curnes and Navzer Engineer, the company emerged from a vision to harness the power of neuroscience to restore independence and dignity to those with sensory and motor impairments. What began as a focused research endeavor has grown into a global leader in the field of neurostimulation, driven by a commitment to scientific rigor and patient-centered innovation.

At the core of MicroTransponder's success is the development of the Paired Vagus Nerve Stimulation (Paired VNS™) Platform. This revolutionary approach is grounded in decades of research into neuroplasticity—the brain's remarkable ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections. The platform is designed to enhance the effectiveness of rehabilitation by pairing vagus nerve stimulation with physical therapy, thereby strengthening the neural pathways associated with motor function.

The company's flagship innovation, the Vivistim® Paired VNS™ System, stands as the first FDA-approved rehabilitation system for chronic ischemic stroke survivors. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Vivistim can help patients regain two to three times more upper limb function compared to intense rehabilitation alone. This breakthrough offers a new lease on life for survivors who may have plateaued in their recovery, allowing them to improve their hand and arm mobility years after their stroke. As MicroTransponder continues to expand, it remains focused on pushing the limits of medical technology to address other neurological challenges, ensuring that its life-changing therapies reach as many patients as possible.
