About M+R’s work:
- We run advertising campaigns that raise money and create change for our clients. Great big ones you read about in the news and tiny ones you’ve never heard of that are saving lives. Lots of politically progressive groups -- Planned Parenthood, League of Conservation Voters, PETA. Environmental groups such as NRDC and Oceana, and our clients also include organizations that are working in the most dire situations in the world such as the International Rescue Committee.
- Day-to-day, we’re raising revenue, acquiring new donors and supporters, winning campaigns and elections, and improving brand and issue recognition.
- Critical to our success is clean, compelling, cutting-edge, user-centered design. That’s where you come in.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Designing high-performing digital ad creative — display banners, social media ads (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat), and email — that stops the scroll and drives action.
- Developing and applying brand identity systems: typography, color, logo usage, and visual language across campaigns and channels.
- Developing strong visual concepts that align with strategy, audience insights, and campaign goals.
- Creating concept sketches/storyboards, style guides, moodboards, etc, that keep campaigns visually cohesive across deliverables.
- Designing web assets including wireframes, mockups, landing pages, and style tiles for branding and web projects.
- Designing multiple creative variants for A/B testing and performance learning.
- Collaborate with strategists, copywriters, and account teams to bring ideas to life.
- Translate briefs and feedback into polished, thoughtful creative.
- Help elevate creative quality and craft across campaigns.
- Own communication with internal M+R staff through high-level project and time management.
- Explain creative choices to client teams and incorporate feedback into rounds of edits, often on tight timelines.
- Complete work within budgeted hours, provide accurate time estimates, and deliver on agreed-upon deadlines.

- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and audience first design trends.
- Drive to seek what can be improved and offer ways to fix any potential roadblocks.
