Responsibilities
- Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Manage cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure optimal financial health.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess company performance.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Software Management:
- Utilize Sage 300/Timberline software to manage accounting processes, project costing, and reporting.
- Train and support finance team members in using software effectively.
- Evaluate and recommend software enhancements or upgrades to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Assist in developing financial strategies and long-term financial plans to support business growth.
- Collaborate with senior management to evaluate investment opportunities and capital allocation.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or in a senior finance role in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Sage 300/Timberline software and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Experience in managing audits, financial reporting, and compliance activities.
