Salary: $110,000 - 160,000/yearThis position allows for 3 days per week remote / work from home. We are a reputable construction company specializing in commercial and residential projects. Our commitment to excellence has earned us a strong reputation in the industry, and we are looking for a skilled Controller to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management:
  • Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Manage cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure optimal financial health.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess company performance.
  • Audit and Compliance:
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Software Management:
  • Utilize Sage 300/Timberline software to manage accounting processes, project costing, and reporting.
  • Train and support finance team members in using software effectively.
  • Evaluate and recommend software enhancements or upgrades to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy:
  • Assist in developing financial strategies and long-term financial plans to support business growth.
  • Collaborate with senior management to evaluate investment opportunities and capital allocation.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or in a senior finance role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Sage 300/Timberline software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Experience in managing audits, financial reporting, and compliance activities.
