Our Asset Management team is growing, and we're excited to welcome a talented Senior Networks Engineer to join us. As a Senior Networks Engineer, youll provide specialist expertise in the adoption and management of assets operating from 11kV up to 132kV. Youll support business growth by contributing technical input across Business Development, Design, Construction, Adoption and Asset Management for both HV and EHV networks. In addition, youll play a key role in developing and enhancing the companys capabilities, systems and processes at HV and EHV levels, while continuing to strengthen and refine established practices at 11kV.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Networks Engineer:
- Manage the implementation of associated company policies, procedures, and technical standards, covering, design, construction, operations, inspections, and records for HV and EHV assets.
- Develop and manage control of HV/EHV networks, including review of switching schedule submitted system alteration notices, control and issue of associated switching instructions, and updating of company systems following new connections and alterations
- Support mentoring and training of existing staff to develop company capability at HV EHV.
- Manage implementation of network monitoring and control systems, inc. SCADA and ensure these systems are operated correctly and kept updated to reflect company assets installed.
- Support Completions function in review of submitted information for HV and EHV assets from in-house and third party ICPS.
- Support Asset Compliance to undertake associated construction and periodic inspections of HV and EHV assets.
- Support Design review of submissions of HV and EHV assets for adoption, and where additional technical support may be required such as HOT/High-EPR earthing arrangements.
- Provide consulting support of in-house design and build functions with construction and testing of HV and EHV assets.
- Inclusion on the companys standby rota or general overtime, where necessary, to cover incidents or planned works outside of normal business hours.
- Provide technical leadership and operational support, where required, to company staff, contractors, and other parties carrying out activities on, or in proximity to, the companys electricity networks.
- Drive adherence to, and continuous improvement of, standards, processes and procedures relating to the operation of the companys electricity networks and associated customer service.
- Maintain compliance with OFGEM Guaranteed Standards of Performance/Guaranteed Standards of Service and other regulatory returns.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Practical experience of operating and controlling operations on electricity distribution networks up to 132kV
- Working knowledge of safety and electricity legislation e.g., Health Safety at Work etc Act, Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of Distribution Safety Rules.
- Practical experience of 33k-132kV network construction, processes, work sequence, materials etc, including familiarity with IDNO/DNO interface arrangements.
- Knowledge of industry engineering recommendations and guidance documents.
- Experience of contributing to standards, processes, and procedures.
- Proven commitment to health, safety, and compliance.
- Experience understanding of Health Safety in an electricity construction environment.
- Excellent IT literacy with standard packages, such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and adaptability to commercial/in-house systems.
- Previous experience as a HV/EHV Central Control Engineer within a DNO or IDNO (desirable)
- Understanding of requirements for connecting and interfacing at DNO 132kV and/or Transmission level. (desirable)
- Experience of commissioning and use of distribution SCADA systems (desirable)
- Experience of managing direct and contract resources, negotiating, managing costs, reviewing and approving invoices. (desirable)
Qualifications
- Qualification(s) demonstrating electrical technical understanding at minimum HNC level.
- IOSH Managing Safely or Site Manager Safety Training Scheme or NEBOSH General Certificate. (desirable)
